Kids Yoga and mindfulness Classes

 

YOGA CLASSES FOR KS1

An introduction to all thing’s yoga for 4-7-yrs. We incorporate group and partner poses, breath awareness, movement, mindfulness, storytelling, music, mindful activities and craft, relaxation, moving meditations, cooperative games, sensory play, self-expression and creativity to develop communication, teamwork, social skills and confidence.

 

YOGA CLASSES FOR KS2

As well as many of the activities covered in KS1 classes we may incorporate more advanced breathing exercises, yoga poses, sequence or flows. We also begin to introduce a deeper understanding of yoga philosophy and the Eightfold Path by exploring the yoga Tree of Life. We often have themes to support PHSE learning which nurture children’s self-esteem, inner strength and resilience.

Classes are often linked to curricular projects, themes or topics, in fact, yoga can be adapted as a mode of teaching and learning just about anything!

 

Each child will learn

  • How to be resiliant
  • To believe in themselves and their abilities
  • How to work through worry and anxiety
  • How to be a good friend
  • Set clear boundaries
  • Self-care is important
