About nyla yoga

Yoga and mindfulness classes, workshops and trainings.

At Nyla Yoga we are extremely passionate about the development and well-being of children and young people. We provide yoga and mindfulness classes, workshops and trainings to families, schools and organisations in the local community. We offer a safe and creative space for children and teens to explore the union of yoga presented in a fun, expressive and age-appropriate way. Our classes empower each individual to develop a growth mindset through mindfulness practice, movement, connection and play!

Zoe loves to share the benefits of yoga and mindfulness with young people, and has invested many hours of training and CPD to deepen her knowledge and working practice. Zoe is qualified to teach yoga to children and families with Rainbow Yoga, certified by Yoga Alliance and Yogamoves4kids certified by Independent Yoga Network. Zoe is trained in Hatha Yoga for adults and is currently working towards a YA RYT 200 hr Vinyasa Flow TT. Zoe specialises in Teen Yoga and has trained with The Teen Yoga Foundation.

Additionally Zoe is qualified to teach Mindfulness with Calm for Kids enabling her to deliver 6-week mindful programmes to schools for KS1& KS2 and Mindset Matters Programmes which uses positive psychology, The 8 Pillars of Mindfulness, NLP techniques and more. Mindfulness for kids is a fun way to learn how to take care of our mental and emotional health and well-being, with lots of fun activities that teach through play. The Mindset Matters Programme is a fundamental building block in a developing child's life.

We also specialise in students with SEND and use highly effective and accessible strategies which work with the nervous system, bringing the body and mind in to balance. Yoga as a sensory diet stimulates the vestibular and proprioceptive pathways whilst supporting emotional regulation, motor planning skills, body awareness, strength, coordination etc.

Whilst Zoe has a passion for all thing’s yoga, she is also a qualified personal trainer specialising in children's health-related fitness. She has also worked for over 15 years in the Health and Social Care sector, supporting and safeguarding vulnerable children, young people and families. Zoe has experience delivering Solution Focused Brief Therapy, The Zones of Regulation and CBT strategies to children and young people in schools and local communities.

Nyla Yoga and Mindfulness Classes are completely non-religious and weave the elements of Hatha Yoga philosophy and the 8-limb path devised by the ancient Indian sage Patanjali.

Zoe is a Youth Mental Health First Aider, is fully insured, and DBS checked.

Zoe tries hard to be a mindful parent to her 7 year old twins and enjoys runnning mini retreats and workshops from her home in Manston, Kent.
